Oops! I almost went over my week!!! Sorry about that. Worked three days and played for three...and now I'm pooped. I'll give a decent update...later. Here's the quick and dirty:
Bought a power washer...power washing ensued.
Had friend in town...crafting and catching up ensued.
Southern Brewers Festival in town...drinking ensued.
Lazy Sunday...comfy clothes and doing nothing...currently in progress.
*Great to see you Jennifer!

40x40 update
Well, after trying a few 'holiday' recipes from Pinterest I'm happy to report that 3 weeks into my 40x40 and 2 lbs are gone. It's not a lot, but with the beers we've been trying and the sweets I've been making/trying, that's pretty darn good. I'm actually surprised it hasn't gone up. But progress is progress so...YAY! :)
Off to finally make the screens for our rain barrels and hopefully get them in place today.

Pinterest Weekend---NOT fail! :)
Since I had several days off this past week (7 to be exact!), Mom came up to hang out and play. We had quite the Pinterest weekend. If you don't know what Pinterest.com is, check it out. It's fun. You can get sucked in, but you'll find all kinds of cool projects, recipes, ideas, etc. We had several projects on the agenda to try and we tried them all...and they were AWESOME!!! I'm pretty worn out from the weekend, so I'll post our pics and links to the appropriate Pinterest page. Let me know what you think!
The weather turned cooler this weekend and we had the doors and windows open. The screened porch was our art studio and Lon burned our very 1st campfire in our fire pit....the shot's a bit blurry, but I LOVE IT!
Prep
1/2 way done
My finished masterpiece...so much fun!
Piece I made for Mom
Mom's first one (with genuine Chattanooga wood!)
Mom's masterpiece
Garage sale trays painted with chalkboard paint
Hemp Angels (for Xmas treats)
Funky mushroom lamp I found a garage sale (painted the base) and another crayon piece I did (my first one).
Yard Art (leaves from our yard), but we used spray paint, not acrylic.
Piece Mom made for us!
The only 'fail'...turned out okay (Lon likes it), but the glue gun is shot and most of the crayon didn't even come out of the tip, but dripped from the back! I call it Christmas Chaos.

Chattanooga Love
Like I needed more reasons to love my pretty little town...this video was created for the Visitors Bureau and I can tell you...it's accurate. Especially in the fall. That's when we visited, fell in love and decided to move here. See what you think:

Hump Day
Haven't had a green smoothie in a while and thought I was due...I forgot how tasty these are! I've tried several versions, but this one is by far my favorite.
Tropical Green Smoothie
1 frozen banana, sliced
1.5 C frozen fruit (I used the mango, peach, pineapple, strawberry blend)
1 C non-fat vanilla Greek yogurt
2 handfuls of fresh baby spinach
Enough water to get everything blended (I used about 1.5 C)
Even Lon likes this one and he absolutely HATES pineapple (I know, crazy right?) It does have a lot of fruit and some people might look at that as too much sugar, but I have to mow and trim the yard this morning so I need some energy (and motivation!). Since our yard is one big slope from front to back that will be my workout today.
Here's the latest harvest from our little tomatoes plants (which are wild and crazy now) we got as a housewarming gift. They are super delish...especially the Sun Golds (orange cherry tomatoes). We finally have enough basil to make our own pesto, too. Lon is the pesto pizza king and he makes his own crust! One of our favorite meals. Yummmmm....
Well, I guess I need to finish this smoothie and get outside. One of the one days we've had in a long time (and are going to have) without rain in the forecast. Where is Fall???? This humidity sucks. Guess I'll appreciate my cooler, drier weather that much more when it gets here. Happy Hump Day!

Keeping my promise
Well, it's almost been one week, so I'm posting. :D I am working a 4 day work-weekend, so not a lot of 'fun' going on, but all is good. Here's the update:
40x40: I worked last Monday, but Tuesday I met with my trainer (two free sessions for new members) and took my first yoga class in a long while. I love yoga and it was a great class (complete with scented oils and a scalp massage), but it kicked my wrists (carpal tunnel + down facing dog = excessive numbness and pain). I'll wear my braces next time to see if that helps. Wednesday I took my first pilates class (kicked my hips/shoulders). Excellent class...wore me out. Thursday, back for 2nd session with trainer. It has been a LOOOOOONG time since I did push ups...not too shabby. But holding plank for 1 full minute...good grief. That sucked. Then I came home and Lon and I did some much needed yard work in 150% humidity...yucko. Looks good, though. So...not a bad start to my 40x40 challenge.
Looking forward to 6 days off (yay for a non-traditional schedule) and getting back to the Y.
Friday-Monday = at the hospital.
BTW, Geri Psych can be fun. Today a patient was calling and feeding the chickens and shooing them off farm equipment. All with his eyes closed sitting back relaxing in a recliner. And something (who knows what) got him so tickled, he made himself cry laughing so hard. I would love to peek inside his brain and see what he sees...but only for a moment. The brain is such a wondrous and scary place. Appreciate your intact memory and ability to do your mundane activities of daily living. They are precious.
